Bhaderwah Police foils bovine smuggling bid | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Bhaderwah, Sep 14: Bhaderwah Police claimed to have arrested two bovine smugglers and recovered 10 bovines from their possession here today. Based on specific inputs regarding smuggling of bovines from Bhaderwah , police laid a 'naka' in Dradu village situated on Doda Bhaderwah road and intercepted a truck 407 (JK06 2237). During the frisking, police recovered 10 bovines and arrested two smugglers. The arrested persons have been identified as Farooq Ahmed s/o Habib Ullah r/o Bheoli Doda and Bashir Ahmed s/o Gulam Mohd r/o Akramabad Doda . The drive was conducted by SHO Bhaderwah Surinder Rao under the supervision of ASP Roop Raj Bhagat and SDPO Bhaderwah Jameel Ahmed on the direction of SSP Doda Varinder Sharma. A FIR no 139 /2011 has also registered at PS Bhaderwah under section 188. It is pertinent to mention here that bovine smuggling is on rise in Doda district and this is for the first time such a huge cache of bovine were recovered by Police . Talking to Media SDPO Jameel Ahmed said drive against smugglers will remain continue in whole Bhaderwah and added that initial investigation revealed that bovines were bring by the smugglers towards Bhaderwah from Bani Sarthal area of Kathua district and informed that all arrested smugglers will be recommended for PSA detention . He also urged upon the people to cooperate with Police and inform if any moment of bovines were found in their area.
