Khajuria lambastes NBCC for unplanned digging

Jammu, Sep 14: Bharatiya Janata Party MLA from Jammu East Constituency Ashok Khajuria, alongwith District President Rajesh Gupta, Kanak Mandi Bazar Association President Vijay Gupta, Vice-president Partap Gupta, General Secretary Anoop Mittal, treasuter Amit Gupta, Pt. Ashok and Ashok Gupta, feliciated the officials and employees of JMC and UEED at Kanak Mandi on Wednesday for their untiring efforts to provide relief to the affected shopkeepers and residents of the area who suffered huge losses during the recent heavy rains.
These employees were handed over cash awards and gifts made available by the Kanak Mandi Bazar Association.
Ashok Khajuria while speaking on the occasion said that NBCC is responsible for the plight of the people, including the shopkeepers of Shabeel Wali Gali and other areas. He said that NBCC do not care for the problems of the people and it has dugged the entire Jammu East constituency. Even the Divisional Authorities to matter anything to NBCC. He said that the recent rains resulted into overflowing of nallahs and drains as a result of which the water entered into the shops and residential areas, thus causing huge loss. He said that with the timely action by the JMC in pressing its staff into service to help the affected people, the situation could be controlled although after a couple of days.
Khajuria said that while Jammu East is the heart of winter capital, Kanak Mandi is the hub of business activities. Kanak Mandi adds to the economy of the state but when there is some problem in the area the government treats it step-motherly only because it is being represented by a MLA who belongs to BJP.
Warning the government to desist from discriminating with Jammu East and nail the UEED, Khajuria said that he will not tolerate such an attitude. He told that the claims of their losses are being processed by the Dy. commissioner office and he himself is pursuing their cases.
JMC Health Officer Anwar Choudhary assured the MLA that the department will take every effective step to provide relief to the people of Jammu city in any future emergency.
Those who were feliciated included JMC Supervisor Ravi Kumar and labour of JMC and other departments.
Yudhvir Sethi, Shiv Kumar Gupta, Balbir Ram, Sanjiv Gupta, Ashwani Sharma, Ramesh Sharma, Sunil Dogra, Kuldeep Kandhari, Karunesh Gupta, Surinder Mohan, Subash Gupta, Kuldeep Sharma, Mnumanav Mahajan and Ram Parsad were present on the occasion.
