Doda people lament over false government promises, demand action on ground

Doda, Sep 14: The peoples of the areas like Mohalla , Khankoot, Balwana, Parshola Barshalla Breswana have once again demanded from the Govt. of Jammu and Kashmir that the Bridge at Harshi Prem Nager should be constructed as early as possible.
Some of the local inhabitants of the adjoining areas like Riaz Ahmed, Dharam Singh, Shabir Ahmed Haji Abdul Gani Sanjay kumar said that the in 2007 then the Chief Minister of J&K State Gulam Nabi Azad during his visit to the area announced the bridge at this area but still after five years the construction has not taken place at ground level. Moreover G.M. Saroori the then R&B Minister has also announced the same bridge at Harshi.
Moreover the people of the adjoining area said that in the past 1985-90 Farooq Abdullah has also announced the same bridge. Peoples also said that our 26 years old demand is still pending.
Now the peoples of the area have appealed to the Government of J&K to construct the bridge at Harshi as the peoples of the area are suffering very hard and there is always a fear of accident as earlier many peoples have lost their lives in functioning Gondola.
Meanwhile the spokesperson of Doda Development Front Ishtiq Ahmed Dev has warned the govt. that if the construction of bridge would not take place the Front will come down on the roads against govt.
At the same time district president of All India Students Federation Mukesh Parihar Said that that due to the non availability of bridge at Harshi the Student Community is suffering more. President Doda Welfare Society Mohd. Iqbal Balwan said that the patience who are suffering from illness suffers more as it take many hours to reach at Distt. Hospital Doda.
