Hindi Divas celebrated | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Sep 14:-Several educational institutions and Public Sector Undertakings celebrated the Hindi Divas with traditional fervour and zeal. Like every year the students and staff of Lawrence Public School celebrated the “Hindi Divas” in the school premises here today. The students of Lawrence Public School under the banner of Hindi Sahitya Samiti (Hindi club) will be conducting competitions through out the week in different events such as essay writing, poetry recitation, debate and drama etc. The programme was inaugurated with lightening of the traditional lamp by the Principal of the school, S Joshi who was the Chief Guest. Today's competitions included Hindi writing competition, poetry recitation competition. The students also recited dohas, shalokas and remembered great legends Kali Dass, Munshi Prem Chand, Amir Khusro, Mahadevi Verma & Harivansh Rai Bacchan, Later Joshi, gave a very inspiring lecture and motivated the students through her message. She said, "Hindi Language has been declared as a National Language by the Indian Constitution on September 14, 1949". She spoke about the future of Hindi Language, Basha Udbhav and Basha Vigyan the career opportunities in this field and the necessity in celebrating the Hindi Diwas. Meanwhile, in connection with the Hindi Pakhwada, POWERGRID Northern Region Transmission System–II is organizing several programmes from September 14 to 28. At RHQ Jammu, the Hindi Pakhwada was today inaugurated by S C Singh Executive Director Northern Region Transmission System-II . On this occasion Jagmohan Sharma, General Manager (O&M), SK Sharma , General Manager (Projects), A K Mittal Addl. General Manager, Pramod Kumar , Deputy General Manager (Finance), Stanley Mathews, Chief Manager (HR) and other senior officers were also present. Messages of Union Home Minister P Chidambaram and Managing Director, POWERGRID R N Nayak issued on this occasion were also read out. Various speakers appreciated the efforts of POWERGRID in spreading the usage of Hindi amongst its employees. Providing facilities to employees in learning the Hindi, making working in Hindi possible on computers, implementing various incentive schemes for employees to encourage them to do official work in Hindi are notable contributions from the POWERGRID Management in this regard. On the occasion of 'Hindi Divas', Rajbhasha fortnight was celebrated in NABARD Jammu and Kashmir Regional Office, Jammu from September 1 to 14. M L Sukhdeve, Chief General Manager, appealed all the staff members to use Rajbhasha in their regular work. In his message, Sukhdeve emphasized that we should not only work in Hindi but make it a part of our day to day life. He also released a brochure of "Financial Inclusion" in Hindi for the rural masses of Jammu & Kashmir. During the Rajbhasha fortnight, for the promotion of Hindi, various competitions were organised and all the staff-members took part actively. A Hindi Poetic-Goshti was also organised on the auspicious day in which prominent Hindi poet of state namely Ramesh Mehta, Vijaya Thakur, Maharaj Krishan Santoshi, Ashok Kumar, Aruna Sharma, Sheikh Mohd. Kalyail, Amita Mehta and Krishan Kumar Sharma recited their poems. To celebrate the “Hindi Diwas” various organizations have organized programmes in their own way and style at Kathua. The Nav Adaresh Higher Sec, school Kathua has organized a “Bichar Goshathi” programme in which various students of the school took part and expressed their views on the importance of national language Hindi. They depicted that the Hindi only the Indian language which is s widely speaking across the country and symbol of unity and integrity of the nation. The Rahul got first, Tania Rajput got second and Sumita Shyllyia stood for third position in the programme. BSF Sr. Sec. School today celebrated Hindi Divas with great fervour and enthusiasm. To highlight the importance of Hindi as “Matra Basha” students conducted a poetic session attired in the costumes of various poets of renown and reciting their poetry. ‘Dhohas’ of Sant Kabir recited in the poetic session was the main attraction of the session. Besides this an Essay Competition was also organised on the occasion. A skit was presented by a group of students to convey the importance of Hindi to the audience. Besides the other message conveyed through the skit was “Karmas are more important than the Maya” and that one must give priority to Karma in his real life. It is the Karma of a person which makes him great while Maya always keeps him in illusion. On the occasion teachers also addressed the students’ gathering emphasizing that Hindi is the most important language of India. All the teachers of the school especially the Hindi faculty participated whole heartedly in organising the celebration and making the programme a success. Principal of the school Dr SS Khokhar awarded Appreciation Certificates to the participating students in order to encourage them to develop taste for Hindi. The function concluded with the address by the Principal in which he shared some valuable thoughts.
