KATHUA, Sept 14: All Jammu and Kashmir Home Guards Welfare Association held its general convention at Raj Tilak Thara in Mubarak Mandi here.
Convention was attended by prominent persons and home guard employees numbering about 500 persons to highlight their demands of raising their pay equivalent to J&K police constable for which they have been fighting for the last more than five years.
JPPF President Pavitar Singh Bhardwaj supported rightful and genuine demands of home guards urging the government to consider their long pending demands. JPPPF urged the government to do justice with Home Guards and solve their long pending demands and save their families who are living in miserable condition.
Other prominent persons who supported demands of home guards included Ashok Khajuria, Sukhnandan Choudhary, Inder Mahinder Tara, Sat Pal Sawhney, Raj Kumar, Partap Singh Jamwal, Rajiv Mahajan, Rajeev Sharma, Udey Chand and Kamla Sharma.
