Cong leader holds public Darbars in Kathua | | | Early Times Report KATHUA, Sept 14: To mitigate grievances of the people, MLC Subhash Gupta convened series of public Darbars in Tehsil Hiranagar of Kathua district. Touring the border villages covering Daiya Chack, Bhathal Chack and village Hore, MLC patiently heard the problems and demands of the people. People of village Daiya chack projected their long pending demand pertaining to the construction of lanes and drains. They also demanded community hall for devotees and patients who had come from different part of the state for Kul Devta Naag Asthan Mandir in the village. At Bhattal Chack locals projected their problems before the MLC related to construction of lanes and drains, electric poles, hand pump in the village, Anganwadi centre in refugee basti of bhattal chak, and pending compensation of drought affected farmers who lost their crops during kharief 2009. Village Hore people apprised MLC about their problems and demands related to electric poles and transformer, solar lights, crates for flood prone areas and construction of Shamshan Ghat road. MLC Subash Gupta said that coalition government is committed to upgrade basic infrastructure in the border and far flung areas of state. He added that government is striving hard for equal development of all the regions of the state viz Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh. He further said that schemes like Border Area Development Programmes (BADP) are formulated to meet the problems faced by the villages fall under border belt.
