Dr Farooq accepted Jag Mohan as his Guru | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Sept 14: Senior National Conference (NC) leader and Law Minister, Ali Muhammad Sagar responded to former Law Minister, Muzaffar Husain Beg's statement today. Beg had called Dr Farooq Abdullah `killer of Kashmiris'. Sagar said: "Former governor Jagmohan is master of PDP president Mufti (Mohammad Sayeed) and it is Mufti who installed Jagmohan as governor in 1990," Sagar told a local news agency. While washing dirty linen in public, Sagar issued a contradictory statement. He said Jag Mohan was master of former Union Home Minister, Mufti Muhammad Sayed. In the same statement, he said "It was Mufti who installed Jag Mohan as Governor of Jammu Kashmir in early 1990." (SIC). A question arises. How could Mufti Install his master as governor of Jammu Kashmir? Normally people pay great respect to their masters. Therefore, installing a master as an employee is simply out of question. On the contrary it was Dr Farooq Abdullah who accepted Jag Mohan as his `guru'. After throwing Farooq out of power in 1984, Jag Mohan administered oath to him after rigging the 1987 elections. Soon after the oath ceremony, a humble Farooq approached Jag Mohan and said: "Sir if I ever make a mistake, catch me by my ear and set me right." This was shown on the Doordarshan. Jag Mohan only smiled. Here an attempt is not being made to defend Muzaffar Beg. He (Beg) is right when he says Mufti did not send Jag Mohan as governor of the state. Mufti was not in charge of Kashmir affairs. Internal Security of the country was also not entrusted to him. While George Fernandez looked after Kashmir affairs, somebody else managed Internal Security. So Sagar must study the history a fresh. Dr Farooq has a tendency of acting as foreign minister of India. He has time and again fired paper missiles towards Pakistan. While he never made a mention of nuclear attack on Pakistan, he repeatedly urged New Delhi to attack Islamabad. Fortunately nobody took him seriously in New Delhi and Islamabad and the sub-continent successfully avoided a fourth confrontation. |
