Navratra fest Katra: Sub Committees meet | DDC asks officers to ensure essential services at Katra | | EARLY TIMES REPORT KATRA, SEPTMBER 15:- To chalk out modalities for the effective arrangements for organizing different events during the ensuing Navratra Festival-2011 commencing form September 28, 2011 at the holy town Katra, the base camp of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine, the District Development Commissioner, Reasi P.K. Pole convened a meeting of sub committees headed by him on Thursday evening. The District Development Commissioner, discussed in detail about the various arrangements with the official and Non official members associated with Sub Committees including Essential Services Committee, Execution Committee, Reception, Hospitality Committees and Wrestling Competition Committee. Pole issued directions to the officers concerned to put in place all the arrangements pertaining to their departments well in time for the smooth conduct of the Navratra Festival -2011. He asked Executive Engineer PWD to complete necessary repair of the main and internal roads of the town where ever necessary while Executive Engineer PHE to ensure drinking water supply at different venues where different events of Navratra Festival are to be organized. Similarly Executive Engineer PDD was directed to create to sub stations with additional arrangements Generators. With a view to make busy locations of Katra town free from the interference of stray animals during Navratra days, the DDC categorically instructed the officers of Municipal Committee Katra to make cattle pond functional besides initiating necessary repair of lane and drains of the town. He also asked them to launch a special sanitation drive to give a dirt free look to the holy town.
