Demands impartial enquiry into the episode
7/30/2006 11:04:01 PM
Jammu / July 30,
Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) condemned the encroachment over Govt. Girls Primary School at Patnitop by Patnitop Development Authority (PDA) and demanded an impartial enquiry into the matter.
ABVP State Secretary, Puran Chand while addressing a prèss conference said that on the one hand government has sanctioned crores of rupees for expanding the education sphere. But, on the other hand, government authorities like PDA are encroaching upon the school land and causing damage to literacy campaign.
ABVP also criticized Revenue Department for not maintaining the land records of public properties especially schools. It alleged that Revenue Authorities have destroyed the revenue map of the area, as there is a triangular nexus between PDA, Revenue Department and Education Department. ABVP demands “status quo” over the school land and threatened to launch agitation if the encroachment would not be removed.
