CB produces challan against 6 cheaters | | | JAMMU, Sept 15: The crime branch of police today produced challan against six persons who ran a finance company and were alleged to have duped investors of lakhs of rupees. Rakesh Kumar Gupta, son of Tara Chand Gupta of Trikuta Nagar, who owned M/s Jammu Wine Sore, also ran R K Traders and R K Finance Corporation. During investigation, CB found that he and his business partners also took deposits from people at higher rate of interest. They had also taken loan from various city businessmen to run their business concerns. Sources said Rakesh issued post-dated cheques to the investors but these bounced as there was no cash in his accounts in Citizens Cooperative Bank. On this, a case under sections 420, 467, 468 and 120B of RPC was registered against him. Also, the company floated by Rakesh Kumar and his associates was not registered with registrar of companies. The cheaters, who were arrested and produced before court, included Ramesh Kumar Kundal, son of Punjab Dass of Talab Khatikan, Ravinder Kumar, son of Brij Lal Gupta of Vikas Lane,Tallab Tiloo, and Neeraj Samotra, son of Rajneesh Samotra of Trikuta Nagar. Rakesh was absconding.
