| Chief Postmaster General calls on Governor | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
SRINAGAR, Sep 16:-John Samuel, Chief Postmaster General, J&K Circle, called on Governor N N Vohra, at Raj Bhavan, here today. During the meeting, the Chief Postmaster General briefed the Governor about the improvements recently brought about in the functioning of the Department of Posts in the State and the initiatives which are being particularly taken to improve the delivery system to ensure against delays.Mr. Samuel also presented details of the 5-day Philatelic Exhibition titled Chinar-2011 being organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Postal Circle at the SKICC, Srinagar, from 26th of this month. He said that this mega event is being organized in the summer capital of the State after a period of 32 years and that this Exhibition will mark the commencement of the Post Office Festival in J&K.The Governor stressed the need for all required measures being taken to significantly improve the mail delivery and other postal services in the State, particularly in the remote areas, for the larger benefit of the people.
