| World ozone day celebrated | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Udhampur, Sept 16:-Dept. of Chemistry of Govt. Degree College Udhampur, in collaboration with Dept. of Science and Technology celebrated World Ozone Day .
The function was presided over by the principal N. K Resutra.
In his address he lauded the efforts of department to provide a platform to the students to deliberate upon this issue of importance.
Kewal Kumar, programme coordinator in his welcome address highlighted the importance of world ozone day.
He explained the important issues related ozone layer depletion.
Sanjay Kharu co-ordinater, dept. of Science and Technology Udhampur in his address outlined various collaborative awareness programmes of DST organized in the college.
He said the students should know the basics of chemistry related to life.
An essay writing competition was held on the topic Ozone layer Depletion –Consequences and its protection in which 70 students participated.
DST Udhampur announced cash prizes of Rs 500,400,300 for 1st, 2nd, 3rd winners and three consolation prizes of Rs 200 each were also announced to the winners
In the end vote of thanks was presented by Subash Samyal HOD chemistry.
Ved Kumar, Sunita Kumari and other staff members also attended the programme.
