Kissan Movement held a day long protest | | | Early Times Report KATHUA, September 16:-Kisaan Movement(Wing-Nature Mankind Friendly Global Movement) warned the state government to face the dire consequences if the long pending demand of the farmers to open the procurement centre through JAKFED is not solved immediately. To highlight their demands the Kisaan Movement held one day massive protest dharna at Mukharji Chowk Kathua. The protest was led by the district president Hurmat Singh, Tehsil president Daya Ram, senior most activists Aswhani Sharma and Surinder Sharma (Shindu) of Kisaan Movement. While speaking on the occasion they strongly criticized the state government for not taking positive and effective steps to open the procurement centre to keep the paddy produce safe and sound so it is believed that the paddy produce may be lost and damaged like in the last year. They said the farmers are not in a state to controle its produce adequately and other side government has failed to provide the procurement centre due to which farmer become compulsive to sale their produce to private market player at very less rate and plundering takes place. They also accused the state government for deliberately promoting and boosting the private players of market to plunder the produce of the farmers at very less rate in order to get high commission to make money at huge level.
