| NMC hails release of pending instalment of DA | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Sep 16:President of the National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) Subash Shastri while hailing the decision of the Union cabinet in releasing the pending instalment of 7% DA due from July last in favour of its employees and pensioners, has urged upon the state Chief Minister to release the same to the employees of the state Govt. and pensioners at the earliest in view of sharp increase of the prices of essential commodities and inflation.
Commenting on the decision, Shastri described it as employees’ friendly decision. Shastri pointed out that since there is already budget provision by the Finance Minister for the year 2011-2012, there should not be any hitch for the state Government in releasing the DA. The delayed in release of DA will not only puts burden on the Government exchequer to liquidate the arrears but also increase the difficulties of employees and pensioners, he added
Shastri also impressed for early payment of pending 6th pay commission arrears to state Government employees and pensioners. Shastri further demanded for regularization of the services of daily wagers working in the various Govt. departments.
