| MLA Doda distributed 215 solar lights among beneficiaries | | | Early Times Report
DODA, September 16: Continuing his extensive touring of rural areas in Doda constituency, Abdul Majid Wani MLA Doda and the senior leader of Congress Party, today, visited Kunyala, Charote, Sheela and Panditpura villages, falling in Gundna and Ghat blocks.
215 solar lights were distributed among beneficiaries belonging to these rural areas. Speaking on the occasion, Wani said these solar lights are going to benefit people in those areas which are not covered under RGGVY.
Moreover, present initiatives being taken under the Ministry for Renewable Energy shall have far reaching effects in near future. Solar as well as Wind Mill Energy shall complement the hydro electrical energy in fulfilling electricity requirement, especially in rural and backward areas of our country. Apart from other district level officers, all the officers of Rural Development were present on the occasion.
Earlier, addressing a small group of local journalists, Wani said that he has taken serious note of non performance by few officers of R&B Department in Doda constituency.
During his visit of Paryote, Shiva and Sarsi, many serious lapses were observed. To much chagrin one Assistant Executive Engineer of R&B Doda Division Peer Ikhlaq, under whose sub division the Paryote area falls, was found to be absent from his duty and did not bother to accompany MLA Doda on his tour of Paryote area. The said Assistant Executive Engineer was informed well in advance about tour of MLA Doda. Wani said that the Government should take strict action against the said officer apart from conduct of a high level enquiry.
