CB produces challan against dealer, mill owner | | | JAMMU: The crime branch of police today produced challan against ration dealer Ghulam Mohammad and mill owner Surinder Kumar alias Ganesh in a case of misappropriation of CAPD ration. While the dealer hails from Chak Bhattal in Hiranagar, Kathua, Ganesh is resident of Dinga Amb in Hiranagar. A case against them was registered under sections 409, 411 and 120-B of RPC and 3/7 of E C Act at Hiranagar police station. The challan against them was produced in the court of JMIC, Hiranagar. On November 17, 2009, at about 5.30 pm, a police party headed by ASI Dewan Chand, incharge Dinga Amb check post, was on patrol near Thanger nullah when he got an information that a TATA mobile vehicle (JK08A/9281), driven by Maggar Singh, son of Punjab Singh of Thanger nullah, had loaded wheat from CAPD store and was on way to Ganesh Flour Mill, Dinga Amb. A naka was then laid at Thangar nullah the TATA mobile intercepted. After it was found loaded with 60 CAPD wheat bags, the police party seized the vehicle alongwith food grains which were being illegally transported to Ganesh Flour Mill, Dinga Amb. During investigation, the I O also seized a permit No 65/Wheat/APL dated November 16, 2009, issued in the name of Ghulam Mohammad. The receipt had been issued by TSO, Hiranagar. The investigation of the case was later transferred to crime branch. The CB investigation substantiated that the ration dealer and the mill owner had hatched a criminal conspiracy to misappropriate the CAPD ration for black-marketing. The ration was meant for sale to general public.The case was now challaned in the court of law for judicial determination. |
