ET Report
JAMMU, Sept 16: Demanding CBI enquiry in the Jagti Township, Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) under the leadership of its President Shadi Lal Pandita alleged that there is corruption in the relief organization in the allotment of quarters at Jagti Nagrota.
Committee alleged that a number of many families putting up in different migrant camps have been ignored and deprived of allotment of quarters in the Jagti Migrant Camp. Committee said that many ration cards have been issued fraudulently to benefit vested interest persons. He said that material used in the construction of the Jagti-township is substandard and it is because of this reasons that the township has begun falling apart.
JTC has demanded a CBI enquiry in this matter. It has further said that anarchy is prevalent in the school education department since Government Higher Secondary School (M) Jagti and Government Middle School (M) Jagti, where children of poor migrants study are without adequate teaching staff since their opening in June, 2011. Six months current academic session have passed but the Institutions are without adequate teaching staff, added the JPC.
JTC has said that a delegation comprising of the parents of the students reading in these institutions met Joint Director in June 2011 who assured them that necessary staff would be deputed to these Institutions at the earliest. However, more than two months have passed but the schools are still functioning without adequate staff.
JTC has aid that sixty two (62) Lecturers, masters and teachers besides eleven class- IVth employees were transferred to these two Institutions vide Govt. order No's DSEJ/Mig/ 1834-40, dated 5-5-2011, DSEJ/Mig/1365-76, dated 25-03-2011, DSEJ/Mig/1826-29, dt 29-0802011. However, of these transfers, according to JTC, none has joined at the new posting till date. They refuse to come to this remote area and as per JTC allegation; they are busy in minting money by giving private tuitions at home and in private tutorials.
Among others who were present in the meeting included Bhushan Lal Raina, Ravi, Vijay Koul, Vinod Tickoo, Brij Nath Pandita, Sameer Pandita, Kuldeep Koul and Inder Jee Labroo. Therapy by healing touch policy towards the Kashmiri Pandit community nowadays universally bear out the deceitful tale in wide-ranging at Jagti township.
Power cut crisis has added insult to injury. Kashmiri Pandits maintain that physically and mentally challenged natives within community face innumerable problems. Several old aged patients suffering from acute diseases are worst hit, say locals. Inhabitants allege that sub-standard material coupled with embezzlement of funds.
They emphatically demand probe through CBI. Outbreak of TRT means two room tenements which is impracticable for animates of Jagti Township for the reason that there are no two bed rooms in the community.
