Ownership rights given to refugees | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Sep 17:Minister for Revenue Relief and Rehabilitation Raman Bhalla, Minister for Industries and Commerce S S Slathia and Member Parliament Madan Lal Sharma distributed ownership rights to the refugees of 1947, 1965 and 1971. The function organized by District administration was attended by large number of refugees and others. Madan Lal Sharma in his address appreciated the role of coalition government and Revenue Minister Raman Bhalla for making it possible. Sharma stressed upon an early redressal of the issues of Pak-west refugees also. He said that refugees of all types must get all those facilities and privileges which are enjoyed by other citizens of the state. He asked the people living in custodian property are also facing trouble and appealed the government to either renovate their premises or allow them to carry out the renovation at their own. Sharma also raised the issue of border inhabitants and said that they are facing a great difficulty in sowing their fields. Thanking government of India for taking fence ahead in many areas he pointed out that in some areas it could not happen and the life of people difficult. He said that border area development scheme (BADB) is not implemented in its true spirit he stressed upon to increase allocation under the scheme so that the basic amenities to the border people are provided. He asked the people to take benefit of the centrally sponsored and other social protection schemes of the government which are meant for the upliftment of poor, skill development of youth and over all development of the people. He said that J&K’s development is at the top priority of the government of India and State Govt and it is the duty of the officers to realize these schemes on ground for the benefits of the common masses.
