NZ Inter State U14 Cricket Tournament | Delhi in comfortably against J&K | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Sports & Allied News SRINAGAR, Sept 17: Formidable Delhi were comfortably placed against Jammu and Kashmir on the opening day of the rain interrupted match ongoing North Zone Inter-State under-14 Cricket Tournament hosted by Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) at Sher-e-Kashmir Cricket Stadium, here today. The opening day of this two-day game, Delhi were bowled 70 overs after the rain spoiled the complete first session of the game. However, Delhi made a great start and were playing confidently at 216 for six when the day’s play was called off. Jonti Sidhu and Arundal Dral were at the crease with 50 and 14 runs in their respective accounts while Ankit contributed 43 runs to the team’s total. From J&K, Shubam Singh once again led the bowling attack and claimed four wickets. Meanwhile, in another match of the day at Kashmir University ground, here, Punjab declared their innings at 286 runs for eight in 84.5 overs against Haryana. When the stumps were drawn, Haryana were struggling at 20 for one in 16 overs. Raman Vishnoi was top scorer with 75 runs while Taranpreet made unbeaten 74 and Abhishek contributed 52. From Haryana, Vikrash claimed five and Yugender Singh took three wickets.
