UCC lifts President’s Cup | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, Sept 17: The UCC lifted the President’s Cup cricket tournament outplaying Amar Singh Club by 23 runs in Baramulla district, here today. The competition was organised by Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA). Earlier, batting first, after winning the toss, UCC lost all their wickets for 180 runs in 25 overs. In reply, Amar Singh Club had to make 131 runs in 22 overs after the final was interrupted by rain and Duckworth-Kewis method was applied by the organisers. Amir Aziz was adjudged man of the match for his all-round performance. He made 43 runs and clinched three wickets. Huwaid Ronga was declared man of the series with 244 runs and seven wickets in the tournament. Treasurer of JKCA, Prof Manzoor Wazir was chief guest in the final. Among others present were vice-chairman of JKCA Kashmir wing, Javaid Ahmad Kitab and working committee members, Shuban Lal, GM Ronga and M Amid.
