Kathua, Sept 17: To take stock of the problems and grievances of the public, MLC, Hiranagar Subash Gupta conducted extensive tour of Hiranagar constituency.
In the grievances camp at Village Gayal Band falling in the border areas, the people demanded fresh survey of BPL, construction of Gagal Band to Devo chack road, and two culverts falling in the way to Shamshan ghat. The West Pakistan refugees settled in the village complaint that their children do not get scholarship.
MLC while addressing the gathering said that Rs.2.36 lakhs has been kept in district plan for the Gayal band to Devo chack road. He said that the culverts will be constructed under NREGA scheme soon. He said that BADP funds meant for border areas will be spent in the areas falling with 5km from the Border. The people of Devo chack demanded transformer, a dispensary, BPL survey and electric poles for the village. The people complained that that there is a problem of low voltage in the village.
While responding to the demands of the people MLC said that Dispensary will be kept in the district plan. He announced Rs. 50,000/- for the construction of street to primary school Devo Chack.
In the grievance camp at Jawahar chack, the people demanded veterinary hospital for the village. They said that whenever domestic animal fall sick they have to go far off for treatment. They also demanded new transformer for the village .The people of Gujjar community complaints that ration is not provided to them by CAPD department though they had ration cards. MLC while speaking on the occasion said that all the demands will be redressed soon.
In the village Mandial the peoples complaints that PDD department is overcharging from them as electricity charges. They said that those farmers which have 3 horsepower water pump are provided or electric connection for 5hp water pump and then charged for the same load the MLC announced Rs.25000/- for the construction of street in village Mandial.
