Nalwa denied bail in Narwal double murder | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Sept 17: Third additional sessions judge Sanjay Parihar today dismissed the
bail application of Ranjodh Singh alias Nalwa who was facing trial in the Narwal double
murder case. Dismissing the bail application, filed by him on medical grounds, Parihar, after hearing
both the sides, said the petitioner was under treatment at SKIMS, Soura, the best
institute of the state and that too under HC orders. In fact, SKIMS medical superintendent had also certified that the petitioner's ailment
was curable and infrastructure required for curing of that ailment was available SKIMS.
Though Nalwa's counsel contended that he wanted to be treated at AIIMS, New Delhi,
the court said such a request of the petitioner had already been turned down by the
high court. He was accused as the main conspirator in the occurrence that led to the murder of
two persons and if on the ground of sickness, he was released on bail, there was every
likelihood of his tempering with the prosecution evidence and misuse the concession of
bail, which in the facts and circumstances of the case could not be given to petitioner. With these observations, the court ordered that the application of the petitioner for
grant of bail was dismissed.
