| Police official tampers succumbed patient’s statement | | Names of two accused allegedly deleted from the statement | | Jammu / July 30 The relatives of a lady, who succumbed to the burn injuries at Government Medical College (GMC) after three day, protested and alleged tampering with her dying statement by police official. They alleged that some of the names which she recorded in the statement at the dying moments were changed by the police official, who recorded her statement. According to them, Kamlesh Chadha wife of late Ramesh Chander of Siot, Sunderbani who received burn injuries was under treatment in the hospital. To record her statement, an Investigation Officer had come to the hospital. She has recorded her statement and mentioned the name of seven persons including Raghuvir Chadha, Pratap Singh Chadha, Vijay alias Pappi, Amrit Ghai, Neeraj Ghai, Agya Chadha and Rajesh Chadha, who inflicted her with the burn injuries. But, the investigating officer has tampered with the statement and deleted the names of Agya Chadha and Rajesh Chadha and even tampered with the parentage of main accused Raghuvir Chadha. It is to be mentioned that, Kamlesh and her family members were threatened by these accused. And their involvement is suspected behind her injuries. She was admitted in GMC three days back but, none of the police official has visited to record her statement. When today investigation officer came to record the statement, he allegedly tampered with it and infuriated her relatives to spark the protest.
