| NCC cadets organize welcome function at Degree College Kathua | | |  EARLY TIMES REPORT
Kathua, Sept 17: Today, a welcome function was organized by the NCC Cadets of 1st J&K Armed. Sqn. NCC Unit of Govt. Degree College, Kathua, in the College NCC Training Ground, under the supervision of Associate NCC Officer. Prof. Sandeep Choudhary, in order to welcome three NCC Cadets, namely cadet Naresh Singh, cadet Sunny Deol and cadet Sandeep Singh Bandral, who returned back to the college after attending the “Thal Sainik Camp “held at DG NCC Ground Delhi from Setemebr 1 to13. These three cadets were the part of the contingent of Forty NCC cadets(Male)who were selected from all over the state after attending various phases of the pre Thal camp at the training Ground, Nagrota.
On the arrival of these three Cadets, first of all they were received warmly by the Associated NCC Officer and then they were taken to the principal’s chamber where the principal of the college, Dr. Ran Krishnan Sharma along with the college staff Secretary, Dr. N.K.Gupta congratulated these Cadets and Particularly the one named Cadet Sunny Deol, who won Gold Medal in the volley ball Tournament held there in Delhi during the camp. These Cadets shared their personal experience regarding the selection procedure during three phases of this camp at Nagrota and the exposure which they gained during various competitions such as Obstacle Training, Firing, Tent Pitching, Map Reading and field Signals during their Thal Sainik camp at Delhi They also informed the NCC Cadets that during their Camp they were taken out to visit various Historical Monuments Such as Red fort, Qutub Minar, Lotus Temple, India Gate etc..In the end, These Cadets instructed the newly enrolled cadets to be disciplined and punctual and to work hard to achieve the ultimate goal of NCC.
