Students visit recycled paper plant at 14 EME Bn Udhampur | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Udhampur Sep 18: Environmental conservation efforts are a major part of the curriculum in all schools these days. Efforts are being made by every school to ensure that the children learn to appreciate, how fragile is the world in which they live. With this aim in mind, 32 students and their teachers of the Udhampur branch of Delhi Public School(DPS) visited the Recycled Paper Plant at 14 EME Bn, Udhampur. This was the first of the series of similar field trips being planned by the school. The Recycled Paper Plant is the first of its kind pilot project by the Army in the state of J&K that started its operations effectively in Apr 2011. The project is a venture by the Northern Command towards ecology conservation and waste paper management. The trip proved to be a tremendous success in motivating the children and making them aware and appreciating the initiative being taken by the Indian Army to secure a cleaner and greener future. What we teach our children today they are sure to pass on to the generations after. We hope that these small steps taken by the guardians of the future to preserve the environment will contribute its part in ensuring a healthier planet for our children.
