Biag who enjoyed great popularity first as Finance minister during the first half of coalition rule and as deputy chief minister for about six months, unexpectedly disappeared from the state politics after he was removed from the state cabinet. Sources from power corridors revealed that Biag is camping in Jammu for last few days and lobbying for securing the post of Speaker. Sources said that after remaining away from political scene for about six months, the senior party leader is again bracing for to come in lime light as Assembly Speaker. “Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad with whom Biag has close proximity has given him a green signal’ said a party source lose to Biag. “Present Speaker Tara Chand would be adjusted in the government as minister as congress still has share of one more berth in state cabinet” sources said adding that Tara Chand has since long been demanding entry in the Cabinet. However, the deal would be finalized only when PDP high command would also give its nod for Baig’s entry as Speaker, sources added. |
