| Concrete steps underway to create infrastructure for sports: Speaker | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
SRINAGAR, Sep 18: Speaker Assembly Mohammad Akbar Lone today directed the officers of Youth Service and Sports department to develop a playing field at Government High School, Poshkar Budgam on priority so that the students as well as local youths can be benefit from the sports activities.
He also directed for formulation of a comprehensive project for the development of Cricket Ground in Poshkar area.
He also appealed the local people to cooperate with the Youth Services and Sports department in identifying the land for the purpose.The Speaker was addressing at the concluding function of Baba Latifu-Din T-20 Cricket Tournament. The tournament started three months back and about 22 teams from various parts of Budgam district participated in it. The final match of the tournament was played between Aubar and Poshkar cricket teams. Aubur Team won by a huge margin of 119 runs.
On the occasion, Lone asked the local youth to participate in games and exhibit their talent to enable them to participate in National and International levels.
Later, the Speaker distributed prizes among the participating teams and players. Responding the demands including block level status to Poshkar area and development of Ziarat Sharief Baba Latifu-Din put forth by the locals, Lone assured them that he will brought these demands in the notice of Chief Minister and concerned Ministries on priority.
Director Youth Services and Sports S. J. Paul Singh, local Leader Prof. Abdul Majid Mattoo and a large number of sports lovers were also present.
