1 killed, 11 injured in Baramulla attack

Seemingly stepping up attacks from last couple of days, militants today lobbed a grenade on a security Vehicle at bus stand Azad Ganj Baramulla in which a civilian was killed while 11 were injured including young girl and an army jawan.
Sources said that the grenade intended on a security Vehicle parked near the bus stand missed the target and exploded on the road.12 pedestrians sustained splinter injuries. Four critically injured were referred to Sheri-e-Kashmir Hospital Srinagar where one of them succumbed to his injuries. Other injured were admitted in district hospital Baramulla.
The deceased civilian has been identified as Munir Ahmed Bhat of Stadium colony. Baramulla. The condition of the other three injured at SKIMMS is said to be critical.
The incident took place around 11:00 am. Sources said the injured persons were immediately rushed to district Hospital Baramulla among which four critically injured were referred to Srinagar.
Sources said that contrary statements were coming from police and eyewitnesses about the incident. While SSP Vipalove Kumar Baramulla and an Army Major Khana of 46 RR claimed that the grenade exploded in the hand of deceased Muneeer Ahmed Bhat, when he was about to throw it towards Army Vehicle.
However, another police official said," Muneer who had received critically injuries on his head and lower limbs was evacuated by Army personnel from the spot of incident and taken to District hospital where from he was referred to Srinagar "One of the injured Habibullah lone said," I saw a grenade coming from somewhere which exploded and people around me falling down including an army personnel, meanwhile I heard some gunshots and people started running halter and shelter.
Another eyewitness Ashiq Hussian said that as soon as blast took place army Personnel thrashed passengers on broad in the mini bus which about leave for Nadiahal, Baramulla.
The family members of Munnir Bhat denied Munir’s involvement. “He is being falsely named as grenade thrower” said his father adding that he was working with a Maruti Show Room for last several years. Meanwhile, Army has reportedly arrested the driver of the mini bus identified as Abdul Ahad Zargar.
The other injured have been identified as Bashir Ahmed Dar, son of Jamal Dar of Nadihal, Mudasir Ahmed Bhat son of Abdul Rashid Bhat of Binner, Ghlum Mohammed Dar son of Abdul Gaffar Dar of Nadihal, Mohammad Ramzan yatoo Son of Mohammed Akbar of Binner, Ashiq Hussain Sheikh son of Misakeen of Kwajabagh, Samir Ahmed Malik son of Dilawar Malik of Achbal Sopore,
Habibullah lone son of Ghlum Rasool of Nadihal, Maysooma daughter of Ghlum Hussan wani of khanpur, Sayeed Aziz, Hamid Sofi son of Ghulam Ahmed, of Azadgunj, Mohammed Ashif Halwae of UP.
