JKPDP holds protest rally against hiked prices | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Sep 18: Jammu & Kashmir People Democratic Party today held rally demonstration at Dogra Hall against State and UPA govt., for continued hike in the price of petrol and all daily essential commodities The rally was led by Vikram Singh, Salman Bhatti (president Ward No.8), Girish Sharma, Pankaj Gupta, Sachin Sharma, Punnet jamwal, Sonu Sani, Dimple Zone President Youth (East) leaders of PDP. PDP activists assembled at Dogra Hall to lodge a protest against continuing hike in the price of petrol, gas and all daily essential commodities. PDP workers shouted slogans against central and state governments for keeping an ‘indifferent’ attitude towards common man. Salman Bhatti said “The totally unwarranted hike in petrol prices will not only break back of the already suffering common man, but will also dampen economy and further slow down growth rate," The hike would adversely affect the transport sector in the state resulting in corresponding price rise of essential commodities/ Surinder Bhatti said that third increase this year which "comes at a time when inflation is touching double digits and the people have no respite from the price rise of essential commodities. This callous move will only have a cascading effect on inflation and price rise." Ajeet Gill said that strong protests were needed to force the government to withdraw from moves to hike the prices of petrol. Nirmala Singh lamented Union Government for its failure to keep the price level of petroleum products and essential commodities. Other participating in the protest include Lovely Jamwal dist secretary Jammu urban ,Arun Manhas city president, Rahul gandotra Dist Vice President , Sunil Sharma vice President Jammu west and Anshuman Chopra Vice President west.
