| Chetanya wins cash prize chess tourney | | |  EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Sept 18: Chetanya Sharma of KC Public School has won the monthly cash prize money chess tournament, organised by All J&K Chess Association, for record third consecutive time at Hotel Nek, here today.
In this month’s competition, held in under-17 age group, he defeated Danish Pathania to compete the hat trick of winning the event. Third place went to Vishesh while Arushi Kotwal and Ishan Raina remained fourth and fifth respectively. Shivinder Chib was sixth and Puneet finished seventh in the final standings.
Meanwhile, the association also started the month end event in senior group also. And, in the this competition, state champion, Sumit Grover bagged the title while Maxim Singh was second and Ajit Singh secured the third place.
General secretary of the Association, Baldev Raj distributed prizes among the winners. He informed that the next round of monthly competition shall take place on October 23 at the same venue.
