Open darbar held at border areas in Kathua

KATHUA, September 19: To listen to the grievance of the people and solve their problems at their doorsteps, the MLC Subash Gupta today visited border areas of his constituency and held an open darbar at Karol Bido, Ladwal and Bobiya.

MLC was accompanied by a team of tehsil level officers of Hiranagar.

The people representing various areas highlighted their problems which mostly related to scarcity of drinking and irrigation water supply, road connectivity and lack of amenities.

The newly elected Surpanches and Panches of the adjoining villages were also present on the occasion. The people of the area expressed happiness over the MLC's visit for ensuring electric poles and electric lines to the un-electrified area of border area.

People of village Karol Bido projected their long pending demand pertaining to the construction of lanes and drains, construction of middle school boundary wall, road connectivity, problem of shamshan ghat in village, fresh BPL survey, pension of widow and old age peoples.

MLC while addressing the gathering said that Rs. 3 Lakh has been kept in BADP for the construction of Karol Bido road. He announced Rs. 50,000/- for development in Karol Bido.

He assured the people that all their remaining genuine demands would be taken up by the concerned departments at the earliest. He announced Rs. 70,000/- for the development of the Ladwal.

Addressing the gathering at Bobiya, the MLC said that the government led by Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah is committed to provide all basic amenities to the people of the state.

The MLC said that the government is fully aware of their problems of the people of the state who have suffered losses due to flash floods and other natural disasters.

He assured that every possible help will be extended to the victims for their rehabilitation. He announced Rs. I Lakhs for the development of the Bobiya area.
