Jagti Township lacks basic amenities, allege KP migrants | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Sep 19: Kashmiri Pandit migrants of Jagti Township have rejected the claims that all the modern facilities have been provided in the camp but in reality it lacks proper supply of electricity, drinking water and other basic amenities due to which residents are facing lot of hardships.
Jagti township residents alleged that they were befooled by the State Government in the name of providing tenements with all amenities of life. They expressed grave concern over the prolonged power curtailment in Jagti Migrant Camp. They said that out of 24 hours a day only 6 hours of power is being supplied to the township which has made the inmates of this camp to suffer hard.
They said that there seems a deep conspiracy to eliminate this migrant community by adding to their sufferings by making prolonged power curtailments and erratic water supply in the camp. They further said that it is not only the question of power or electricity but there safety is also in danger as there is leakage in roofs besides major cracks in most of the buildings in the camp.
The inmates of Jagti camp further said that it is astonishing that there is no special arrangement for cremation of the any deceased because there is no provision of a funeral ground in the vicinity of the camp.
