Youth Cong membership drive begins at Nagrota | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Sep 19:
As per the Youth Congress' nation-wide membership programme started from September 11, the Congress unit of Nagrota Assembly Constituency has started membership drive in Nagrota constituency.
The Membership drive at Nagrota constituency was inaugurated by Kiran Wagela, Lok Sabha returning officer, Congress and Amaninder Singh Raja, General Secretary, All India Youth Congress while former MLA Nagrota Thakur Shiv Dev Singh was also present on the occasion.
In his welcome address, Thakur Shiv Dev Singh said, 'We have today started the membership drive in Nagrota in respond to nation-wide membership drive of youth Congress aiming to strengthen the party at grass root level".
"Youth are the most powerful force for a nation and they need to play a positive role in national building exercise", Singh said, exhorting the youths to participate in the membership and strengthen hands of Rahul Gandhi as Congress is committed to give opportunity to youth irrespective of caste and creed.
Moreover, he said youth's involvement in politics would help build a stronger nation. He disclosed that in Nagrota they have fixed a target and wil achieve the target to strengthen Congress at grass root level.
Elaborating on the election process, Kiran Wagela informed that the membership drive has been started from September 11 and will continue till October 8
Wagela expressed that this is great opportunity for the youth of Nagotra to know the policy of the Congress which always stood for 'internal democracy'.
Describing Youth as the future of nation, Amaninder Singh Raja said youth should participate in large numbers to strengthen the party and encourage the initiative taken by Rahul Gandhi.
