| DVM to celebrate birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh | | |

JAMMU, Sep 19:
The Executive Members Meeting of Duggar Vikas Manch (DVM) was held at Dogra Sadar Sabha, Dogra Hall here today to discuss about its functioning and coming annual activities to be taken up by the forum.
During the meeting it was decided unanimously that Duggar Vikas Manch will organize a function to celebrate the birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh on September 22 in the park of Maharaja Hari Singh Chowk, the site where statue of Maharaja Hari Singh has been installed.
Convener of Duggar Vikas Manch raised question at the callous approach of the administration in delaying the installation of the Statue of Maharaja Hari Singh which is to be installed at Tawi Bridge (Near Press Club Jammu). During proceedings of the meeting he said ‘It is very unfortunate that the statue of Maharaja Hari Singh could not be installed till today, despite the fact that site of installation as well as work of statue is almost complete and it should have been installed before or at least on his birth anniversary.
During the meeting, the decision of celebrating the ‘Accession Day of J&K State with the Union of India’ was also taken and the programmes to be taken up by the forum were also finalized. It was decided that a ‘Childrens’ Jog’ shall be organize like previous year, on the eve of Accession Day on October 25, in which students drawn from various institutions shall participate. The Flag Hoisting Ceremony shall be organised on “The Accession Day”, i.e. on 26th October 2011 at the Historical Mubarak Mandi Complex Jammu.
Prominent members present in the meeting included IGP CL. Banal (Retd.), W. Comdr. M.M. Joshi, Surinder Singh, Prof Devinder Sharma and Abdul Gani Kohli, President Muslim Coordination Committee – Jammu. |
