| Fight economic onslaught unitedly, Tarigami asks working class | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Sep 19:
MLA M Y Tarigami has stressed upon the working class people to keep their ranks united to fight economic onslaught and neo-liberal economic policies implemented since 1990.
Tarigami was speaking while chairing a daylong meeting of Chenab Hydro Power Projects Workers Union (affiliated with CITU) held here today at Gandhi Nagar.
He further exhorted upon the working class leadership to be pragmatic towards the problems being faced by the labourers in various working places.
Stressing upon the implementation of labour laws, minimum wages Act, Tarigami said that united struggle is the only way to settle the issues of the working class.
Com. Javed Zargar working president of CITU while addressing the meeting urged both union and state governments to start the execution work in already indentified Hydro power Projects on river Chenab which include Pakkal Dul, Rettle, Kiroo, Kawar, Karthai, Pakkal Bursal and Sawla Kote.
Tarigami further demanded that farmers be adequately compensated for their acquired land for construction of Rettle Hydro Power Project besides jobs to the effected families.
Comrades Javed Zargar working President, Om Parkash General Secretary and Sham Prasad Kesar state Treasurer of CITU also participated in the meeting besides other office bearers and members of the union. |
