Vikram, Rehari Club share boys’ titles in handball | | | EARLY TIMES REPOSR JAMMU, Sept 20: Vikram Club boys bagged under-15 title while under-12 trophy went to Rehari Club in the Jammu District Handball Championships, organised by J&K Handball Association at Mini Stadium, Parade, here today. In under-15 final, Vikram Club defeated Sandeep Pal Singh Club 10-07 in a well contested match. Third place in this category was bagged by Bahu Club outplaying Rehari Club 4-3 in the hardliner. The under-12 title went to Rehari Club after the side outplayed Heritage School 11-08. Earlier, in under-12 hardliner, Vikram Club trounced Bahu Club 8-5 to bag third place. In girls’ under-15 competition that played on league basis among three teams, Sandeep Pal Club bagged first place beating Heritage School 4-1 in the last league tie today. The finals were officiated by Vikas Paroch, Bachan Dogra, Bharat Sharma and Bhumesh. In the final and prize distribution function, chairman of J&K Handball Association, Kuldeep Singh was chief guest, who gave away medals to the winners. Speaking to the winners and runners-up teams of different age groups in the valedictory function, general secretary of the Association, Ashwani Kumar Raina expressed his happiness over the participation of a good number of teams in the district tournament. He assured the young participants that efforts would be made to hold competitions on regular basis at district and state level.
