| Home Guards demand wages at par with those of Punjab, Haryana | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Udhampur, Sept 20: A deputation of all J&K Home Guard welfare Association under the chairmanship of Inder Mohinder Pal Singh & Kamala Sharma met Balwant Singh Mankotia MLA & state president JKNPP at his official residence at Udhampur and submitted a memorandum in support of their long pending demand.
Kamala Sharma president of Association urged Mankotia that they are sitting on Dharna in Mubarak Mandi Jammu from last six years & met Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Omar Abdullah Chief Minster of J&K and other political leaders number of times but all in vain.
She told Mankotia that jawans of J&K Home Guard are being paid Rs. 545/= per month due to which it is very difficult to live their life honorably. Association member told Mankotia that in Punjab, Haryana these home guard volunteers are getting Rs. 300/= per day where as in J&K they are getting only 545/= per month which is very less as compared to other states.
They demanded that their wages should be at par with the Home Guards of Punjab & Haryana states.
Mankotia gave the patient hearing to all the member of association and assured them that their all genuine demands shall be highlighted forcefully in the coming assembly secession.
