EARLY TIMES REPORT
SRINAGAR, Sep 20: J&K Bank today inaugurated one more Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI) in Shopian.
The institute commenced a 6-day programme for its first batch of 30 participants under the title ‘Entrepreneurship Awareness’.
Additional DDC Shopian Atta-Ullah Simnani inaugurated the institute in presence of J&K Bank Vice President and Zonal Head, Kashmir (South) Syed Ashiq Hussain Zaidi, Lead Bank Officer (LBO) Shopian Mohammad Saleem, LBO Pulwama Ghulam Rasool Kumar and Cluster Head Shopian.
Speaking on the occasion, Additional DDC Simnani urged people to honour their commitments towards the Bank once they avail loan facilities from it.
He said, “The Bank can lend money to prospective entrepreneurs only when those who have already borrowed money repay their dues in time. Otherwise, the Bank shall genuinely have reluctance to finance the budding businesses.”
The Bank’s Zonal Head (South) dwelt in detail upon the various steps that the Bank has taken in the form of RSETIs to institutionalize entrepreneurship in J&K.
He said, “Establishment of RSETIs across the state testifies our commitment to nurture the culture of entrepreneurship here. Moreover, we will hand hold the participants and guide them at least for the next two years.”
If the youth who are trained in these institutes face any difficulties in finances after they are sponsored by the relevant agencies, the director of the institute will help them in arranging finances, he added.
Earlier, Director RSETI Aijaz Ahmad Banday while welcoming the guests and participants to the inaugural ceremony of the institute said, “The institute will provide not only skill development to young and budding entrepreneurs but will also hand hold them for at least 2 years till they are able to establish their own viable units.”
