JKNPP concerned over condition of Dyalachak-Billawar Road
9/20/2011 8:54:07 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Sep 20:After his two days tour of Kathua District, General Secretary and spokesman of JKNPP Hari Chand Jalmeria has expressed concern over the disruption of vehicular traffic on Dyalachak – Billawar Road for over twenty days due to sliding of the road near village Thein.
This road is life line for the people of Billawar both for reaching district headquarter Kathua and for reaching State Capital Jammu.
Jalmeria charged the State Govt. of adopting callous and casual approach in restoring vehicular traffic on the Dyalachak-Billawar route. Jalmeria was also concerned about damage to Samba-Mansar road, Billawar-Sukrala road and Lakhanpur-Mahanpur road due to land slides. These are the busiest roads and should get top priority in maintenance, added Jalmeria.
Billawar-Macchedi and Billawar-Katli roads used by hundreds of commuters remain in bad shape in all seasons. Bani-Basohli road remained closed for over one month during June this year. The plight of roads in the border areas of Hiranagar and Kathua tehsils is equally bad, he said.
This speaks volumes about the stated policy of Government that all regions and districts are getting equal treatment in all fields.
People at Billawar complained to Jalmeria about shortage of LPG of HP in Billawar.
Jalmeria has asked the Chief Minister to visit Billawar and address the problems of road connectivity in the area. In the ensuing Navratra days, there shall be huge rush of pilgrims on these roads and these should get top priority in maintenance.
