| HBET distributes scholarships to rural girl children | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Sep 20: Harbans Bhalla Educational Trust (HBET), Shanti Villa, Talab Tillo, Jammu distributed scholarships of over Rs. 2.20 lakh to 40 Rural children residing in border areas like Daram Khoo, Burn, Chak, Amb, Bishnah, Birpur etc on the 2nd day of the scholarship distribution function. Medical check up, Counselling sessions, Evaluation test were also organized for the students. The Trust was established in 1997 with the objective of supporting education to children living in the rural/border areas. The trust is making a noble & critical contribution to the society by reaching out to the needy students in the remote areas and helping them to pursue their education. Selection of students is made on the basis of academic merit and financial need from various schools of Jammu Region.
Satish Gupta, Controller Drug and Food Organization, was the Chief Guest and Surinder Kumar Tikoo, Assistant Controller Drug and Food Organization, was the Guest of Honor on the occasion. They appreciated the activities and efforts made by the Trust for uplifting the girl child Education.
Speaking on the occasion, the Managing Trustee Kunil Bhalla highlighted the activities of the trust & its future plans. He thanked the University of Jammu as well as the donors for their support to the Trust.
