9/20/2011 8:57:00 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Sep 20:-Continuing their protest against Jammu University for the cancellation of the supplementary exams of engineering students, the students of various engineering colleges boycotted their classes and held a massive protest demonstration under the banner of National Panthers students Union (NPSU) at old GCET campus, Jammu
Angry students were chanting slogans against JU alleging that no concrete decision has been taken by the authorities to concede their demands. Protesting students contacted Controller of Examination University of Jammu, who assured the students that JU is taking their matter into consideration and a positive solution will be made within days.
Addressing the students Javed Iqbal said that it is high time for the authorities to realize what is written on the wall. He said the authorities want to kill this movement by adopting delaying tactics. He further added the students are well aware of the mind games of the authorities and they will never let that happened.
Lalit Raina said that the students are protesting peacefully and it is responsibility of JU authorities to take this matter seriously and warned that if the students will not be listened it will be hard to control their anger.
Partap Singh alleged that JU authorities are responsible for the wastage of precious time as they have refused to pay any heed to their demands. These students are boycotting their classes from the last one week but keeping in view their hectic course these students cannot afford wastage of a single day.
He further pointed out the timing of this notification which is implemented on the running batches. He said that there is no provision to amend or implement anything in the middle of the course. If JU wants to amend anything it should be for new batches, he added.
