| Misappropriation of Rs 1.32 crores | | Court directs SSP SVO to proceed under law | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, September-20:- In a complaint filed by Prof S.K. Bhalla seeking directions to the State Vigilance Organization to register FIR under Prevention of Corruption Act against the then Principal of Govt Degree College Rajouri for abusing his official position by misusing/misappropriating local funds to the tune of Rs 1.32 crores, Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu Pawan Dev Kotwal has directed SSP Vigilance Organization to proceed into the allegations leveled in the complaint under law.
In the complaint it has been alleged that while Dr. Nitin K Resutra functioned as Principal of Govt Degree College Rajouri he abused his official position by spending a whooping sum of rupees 1.32 crores.
A complaint was moved earlier before the Chief Minister on March 3, 2011 highlighting the bungling. The complainant had sought a thorough probe through State Vigilance Organization in the matter.
It was also alleged in the compliant that vide Govt order dated April 27, 2011, the Higher Education Dept had constituted a committee of officers headed by Director Colleges to look into the allegations leveled against then Principal of Govt Degree College Rajouri presently posted as Principal Govt Degree College (Boys) Udhampur regarding the irregularities and misuse of Govt funds while functioning as Principal GDC Rajouri. The committee indicted Dr. Nitin K Restura which is evident from a show-cause notice which was published in a leading daily of Jammu in its issue dated September 13, 2011.
In the latest complaint, the complainant prayed before the Court that keeping in view the submissions, the court may be pleased to issue appropriate directions to the SVO to register FIR u/s 5(2) Prevention of Corruption Act against Dr Nitin K Resutra in the interest of justice.
