Don’t link KPs return to valley with employment: ASKPC | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Sep 20:-A working committee of All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference (ASKPC) met under the chairmanship of its president AN Vaishnavi. The meeting took stock of present scenario and discussed the problems faced by the community. The members expressed surprise over the government recommendation of cost of Kashmir pandits as if KPs have ever asked that if they are not provided a sum of Rs 20 lakh they will never go to valley where they have history of more than five thousand years. They said actual facts of exodus have not been touched and no mention of persons responsible for this exodus has been made any where. This irritated some the member who said that no such decision was taken in the apex committee as the community is not prepared for the 8th exodus. Several times the government was asked not to link the employment with return instead draconian conditions were attached to it. In the first apex committee meeting it was brought to the notice of the Home Minister that Kashmiri pandits will surely go the place of their birth but there should be compact secured rehabilitation with constitutional and institutional guarantees which would address their geopolitical aspirations In the meeting member expressed anguish over tampering of land records where name of the owners have been omitted and sales of such lands have allegedly been made with the connivance of the Revenue Authorities and the revenue officers.
