‘PIL’ brought more relief to Delhi High Court bomb blast Victims | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT New Delhi, Sept 21: Division Bench of Delhi High Court comprising JJ Deepak Mishra (Chief Justice) and Sanjeev Khanna on a Writ Petition (Public Interest Litigation) filed by State Legal Aid Committee, directed the Union of India and the Govt. of NCT of Delhi to give Rs.10 lacs to the family members of the victims died in Delhi High Court Blast on 07/09/2011 and provide Rs.10 lacs, Artificial Limbs and for free medical treatment under ‘Free Ship Treatment Quota’ to the persons who got permanently handicapped in the said Bomb Blast. Enhancing the Ex-gratia compensation to the persons seriously injured in the blast the Court directed the Union of India and the Govt. of NCT of Delhi to give Rs.3 lacs and Rs.20,000/- to the persons who received minor injuries. The Petitioner, Gaurav Kumar Bansal, Secretary of State Legal Aid Committee, J&K argued before the Court that some of the names of the persons injured are not covered in the List of victims and there must be proper Rehabilitation policy. The court directed the petitioner to provide the names of such injured persons to the Govt. of NCT of Delhi and Union of India for appropriate action.
