Cross border firing: BSF lodges protest with Pak | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu: The Border Security Force (BSF) on Wednesday lodged a strong protest with its counterpart, Pakistani Rangers, over cross border firing along Indo-Pak border in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir.
BSF troops lodged a strong protest at the company level at border outpost Ghallar along International Border (IB) in Samba district today, a BSF officer said.
BSF had also intimated Pak rangers and called for a flag meeting after yesterday's cross border firing.
Sub-Inspector S P Rana was killed and civilian Subash Kumar was injured in cross border firing on a patrol party of BSF along IB near Ghallar post in Samba district.
However, there was no response from Pakistan side to BSF's demand for flag meeting over the issue, he said.
Meanwhile, Uttarakhand Chief Minister B C Khanduri expressed his grief over the death of the sub-inspector who belonged to Dabar village if Pauri Garhwal district in the state.
Khanduri said making supreme sacrifices for the sake of nation has been a tradition of Uttarakhand and the martyrdom of Rana would also be remembered.
