‘Policies pursued by CM have dangerous consequences for Jammuites’ | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Sep 21: Jammu State Morcha (JSM) today called upon the political leadership and people of Jammu region to take serious cognizance of the recent developments and the developing situation that shall going to affect the future of Jammuites. Addressing a press conference here today, the JSM president Prof Virender Gupta said that the statements issued and policies pursued by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah have signalled the forthcoming dangerous consequences for the people of Jammu region and for the national integrity. Grant of amnesty packages for the families of terrorists, for the youth arrested and booked under the charges of stone pelting, for the militants who crossed over the other side of the border to get training to fight against the Indian establishment, asking for the withdrawal of AFSPA and pardoning the foreign terrorists, opposing the death sentence of Afzal Guru, the man who conspired the attack on the Indian Parliament are some of the actions of Omar Abdullah which question his bona fide as a Chief Minister of Indian state and are the matter of serious concern for the Government of India and the nationalists of Jammu and Kashmir. Gupta further said the Interlocutors are going to submit their report to the Union Govt. on or before October 12. Looking at their mindset reflected by their utterances made in and out side the state, it is obvious that the recommendations of the interlocutors are going to endorse the agenda of pro-separatist forces including National Conference and PDP. There are apprehensions that the report is going to ignore the aspirations and interests of the people of Jammu region, he added. Others who addressed the press conference along with Prof Virender Gupta were HB Khjuria, Brig(Retd) Anil Gupta, Chandra Uday Sharma and Surjeet Singh.
