| Beig bats for Mahbooba | | | Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, Sept 21: Former deputy Chief Minister and PDP leader, Muzaffar Husain Beg today extended support to his president over the latest controversy involving Mahbooba's speech at the National Integration Council (NIC) meeting.
Beigh said Mehbooba had not committed a sin if she raised her voice for the down trodden Muslim minority of the country. "You cannot cage Mehbooba Mufti in Jammu & Kashmir" he asserted.
Beg said it was unprecedented for any leader from J&K to dare entire political leadership of the country on behalf 20 crore Muslims of India. Omar Abdullah is unnerved by this and has resorted to taunts through his tweeting past time. Beigh said Omar has claimed that he apologized for siding with Narendra Modi during the Gujrat riots but he did it too late. He did so only in 2008 when he was out of power and wanted to rebuild bridges with the congress. Otherwise he has been a Minister in the same government of which Modi was a Chief Minister presiding over massacre of thousands of Muslims in Gujrat. "At that time Farooq Abdullah had said that Modi has its own compulsions", Beigh reminded his audience. |
