| Bar Asso accords warm welcome to CJ Kalifulla | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 22-The Bar Association Jammu today accorded warm welcome to Chief Justice F.M.Ibrahim Kalifulla on his maiden visit to Jammu after being sworn-in as the Chief Justice, High Court of J&K.
The function was attended by Justice, J.P. Singh, Justice M. H. Attar, Advocate General, Registrar General of the Hon’ble High Court, B.L.Bhat (Special Judge CBI Jammu), Principal District & Session Judge Jammu and members of Subordinate Judiciary.
Welcoming the Chief Justice, General Secretary, Bar Association Jammu, Mr Vikram Sharma, congratulated him on his assuming Office as Chief Justice of the High Court of J&K.
President, Bar Association Jammu, Mr B. S. Slathia apprised the Chief Justice of the healthy traditions of the Bar in extending its full corporation in the administration of Justice. He also apprised him of the vacancies of High Court Judges which are lying vacant since long. He congratulated Jang Bahadur Singh, Ld. Principal District & Sessions Judge for his able administration in checking the corrupt elements.
Chief Justice, F.M. Ibrahim Kalifulla, in his address, appreciated the concern of the Bar towards the difficulties faced by the Bar and the litigants due to shortage of Judges and assured that strength of the Judges would be increased. On the occasion, he handed over a cheque of Rs.50,000/- as a financial aid to the wife of Late S.Kulwant Singh, Advocate from the Advocates Welfare Fund.
Office Bearers of Bar Association Vikram Sharma (General Secretary) Parimoksh Seth (Joint Secretary), Mrs. Sandeepa Sambyal (Treasurer), Rohan Nanda, President YLA, Amit Gupta, Vice President YLA, Senior Advocates and the members of Bar were present on the occasion.
