CDTP advisory committee meeting held

JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 22 – The Advisory Committee meeting of ‘Community Development Through Polytechnic’ (CDTP) scheme was held at Government Polytechnic for Women, Jammu with Dr. Bhopinder Singh Dean faculty of Engg/Principal Government College of Engg and Technology in the chair and attended by all the members of the Advisory Committee.
Er. Gurbachan Singh, Principal, Govt Polytechnic for Women, Jammu while welcoming the members of Committee described its relevance in successful implementation of the scheme. He said that CDTP Committee has a crucial role in the upliftment of rural poor particular women in terms of skill development/technology transfer, technical services and other support services and increasing the reach of the scheme in targeted areas. He said that at present the activities are being carried out through the main centre and eight extension centres in villages and slums.
Er. Naresh Gupta, Internal Coordinator of CDTP scheme in the institute introduced members of the advisory committee. He also described the progress of the scheme implementation through power point presentation.
Dr. Bhopinder Singh, Dean Faculty of Engineering, while appreciating the work done by the CDTP, stressed upon involvement of the advisory committee and common masses in planning and implementation of the activity so as to increase its outreach to the rural society. A photo exhibition, displaying the activities undertaken during past years was also held. A detailed discussion on agenda points took place.
