Don’t play politics on Guru resolution’
9/22/2011 9:29:49 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
Srinagar, Sep 21 : Independent MLA from Langate constituency of Kupwara district Engineer Rasheed Thursday alleged that conspiracies were being hatched by some political parties so that the resolution moved by him to seek clemency for Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru is defeated.
Talking to KNS Rasheed said, “Some political parties are making plans to ask their MLAs to remain absent on the day of voting on the resolution. It is unfortunate that they are playing politics on a human issue.”
He appealed the people to prevail upon MLAs of their respective constituencies so that they vote in favour of the resolution.
Meanwhile, Rasheed termed former PaK Prime Minister Barrister Sultan Mehmood’s visit to Kashmir as welcome step.
